About Shambhala Travels & Tours

Shambhala Travels & Tours was created by Dilgo Khyenste Rinpoche (1910-1991), a great Tibetan master of one of the oldest Buddhist schools, the Nyingma, who offered the agency to the late Shamar Rinpoche (1952-2014) , a great Tibetan master of one of the main Buddhist lineage, the Karma-Kagyu, who, himself bequeathed it to Karma Tsering.

Why create a travel agency ? This idea was born to privilege the spiritual experience and richness of human encounter through Culture, Art and Nature. 'Travel like never before'.

Founded in 1989, Shambhala Travels & Tours has a strong awareness of the spiritual journey in Asia. High quality itineraries rich in history, encounters, discovery, feelings and spirituality.

Among other things, Shambhala Travels & Tours, organize the Kaguy-Monlam, the first 'World peace Festival' that brings together more than 10,000 monks and thousands disciples from all over the world, which is held each year in December in Bodhgaya, India.
